NEWS: Redhead Performs @ #FreshProduce in Washington DC (6/21/17)

Another appearance at the #FreshProduce showcase. I decided to just mingle with the crowd and share some bars with the producers that came with their new tracks. Not much footage to share, but a fan shared this small Instagram clip. Shouts to the folks at Vendetta for always showing love.

PRESS: Stephen Redhead Interviews with Radio One’s Spirit 1400AM (6-3-2017) (Audio)

I recently sat down with Sandra Ekpenyong of Spirit 1400AM, owned by Radio One, in Baltimore, MD. This show Empowering Youth For Today is a Christian program show, but I was asked to speak on the trials and tribulations of being a Christian in the music industry and how to impact the youth to the point of joining the church. It was a very interesting interview that I wouldn’t normally have the chance to have, but I’m glad the world positioned itself to be this way for me.

Here is the full audio version of it, and a few pictures at the bottom of the post.

VIDEO: Stephen Redhead Performs at Broccoli City Festival (2015)

Some new footage has surfaced of my performance at the Broccoli City Festival in Washington DC. The folks at One Love Massive threw a massive cypher and invited me to participate to hype the crowd together. We opened for Jaden & Willow Smith and Tink at this time. Here’s a clip of me doing my thing.

NEWS: “Exxxactly” Added to Genius

For those interested in learning the lyrics to my album “Exxxactly”, or just wanna be a nerd and read on the production credits and all the inner workings of it, I’ve put the album out on Genius.com. Feel free to have your fun with that. Also, that album is streamable there through YouTube. Happy holidays and don’t stab anybody on New Year’s Eve.

NEW MUSIC: “Exxxactly” (Album)

It’s been a long time coming, as you could probably imagine. These are some songs that I created over the past year. The concept of Exxxactly is that, oftentimes, we tend to maneuver through life behind the perception of what other people perceive you to be. It’s like you’re playing a role at times so as not to confuse, offend, or embarrass people. But what’s the fun in that? One shouldn’t have to be put in a box to appease others that honestly wouldn’t care about your well-being anyway. Since I started making music, it’s been a constant theme of people telling me that because they feel that I look like a geek or nerd, that I should act like it (and subsequently make music off that).

For awhile, I played this role to get by. But now, as an adult, I don’t care about that anymore.  Sometimes you have to know your worth, and mine is knowing that I could do ANY type of music that I please. I’ve worked with hiphop, folk, rock, R&B and pop acts for almost a decade and I believe I know what’s good. I wanted this to be lighthearted, especially due to the current conditions of America. I don’t want to make any project that doesn’t reflect who I am or any particular “style” unless there’s a particular concept for it. For this project, I’m showing that you can’t put me in this proverbial box. It’s not accurate. It’s not cohesive. It’s not right or wrong. It’s not “exact”.

The 3 X’s in the name symbolize the R&B influence of the music. Women are attracted to what they hear and men are attracted to what they see. Since it’s music, I’m only interested in talking my thoughts for understanding. The men are just gonna have to wait and see what happens, haha.

Check out this album on the right side of my page in the iTunes section.  It’s also available on Spotify, Tidal, Google Play, and all other stores. If you want PHYSICAL copies (or support me directly via Bandcamp), you can go to the Store section.
