NEW MUSIC: Stephen Redhead – “You’re Still A Racist” (Joyner Lucas Freestyle)

I checked out a new song by rapper Joyner Lucas “I’m Not Racist”. Interesting concept, but the Black person’s rebuttal seemed kinda lacking in its context. So I decided to do a verse for fun. No big deal.

VEVO Premiere: Redhead – “Aim To Please” (Music Video)

This is the VEVO premiere of the first music video that I’ve ever directed of myself called “Aim To Please”. It was done sometime last year where I was driving my car away from a house party and decided to tape the events of that night. I’m laughing at this in particular because you can clearly see that I’m ducking the police as I’m driving home. I wanted to put this record out because I wanted to showcase the different sides of myself as an artist, especially with the platform that I have with SFE/InGrooves/Fontana. There will be more upbeat, hilarious party songs in my next releases, but for this one, I wanted to showcase that I’m just a real person with real stories. Here is the video for your pleasure, and you can buy this song on Itunes/Amazon/eMusic and everywhere else, as well as Talk White

BONUS: Here’s also “Talk White” for good measure

New Video: “DTAMMY (Don’t Talk About My Moms, Yo)

I’ve decided to drop a video for the freestyle over the MF Doom beat that I dropped a month ago. Just for fun. I filmed this in the basement of my crib and just went to work. Idle hands are the Devil’s playground, man.

Rob Markman of MTV News compares Redhead to Tupac Shakur

As many would know, I am an avid Twitter user, but not really that well-versed in social networking. I follow Rob Markman from his work with XXL and MTV. Some weeks ago, he asked on his Twitter page to hear new music. On the whim, I’ve sent him the video for “Baggage”. What resulted was in a brief conversation between us where we discussed where my mind state was in making the song. He compared the record to the late Tupac Shakur’s “Papaz Song” and retweeted it to his 18k following. I’m greatly honored and appreciative of the compliment and love shown via this exchange. It is always great to see that my work is appreciated by others of mutual respect, but it’s even more amazing that it would be compared to arguably the greatest Hiphop artist of all time. Maybe one day, my name will be regarded in that space. Until then, the grind continues…
