Redhead Visits the LaZHour Show

Earlier this week, I visited the LaZHour radio show that streams online through Listen Vision Studios after previously attending the show the week before to talk about the Halloween Tape. LaZ-Eye was so impressed by my music that he wanted me to stop by more often. They did an interview with another artist, and I played them the Too Much single, as well as an impromptu freestyle session. This was the first time the song was played on the air and everyone unanimously loved it.

Shoutout to the staff and crew for supporting me. I feel truly humbled by the experience.

NEW MUSIC: Redhead Previews New Single “Too Much”

I’m dropping this new single around Thanksgiving of 2013. It’s called Too Much and is produced by TDeezy who I’ve previously worked with on a couple of tracks. My EP project Exxxactly is almost done and I’m totally excited about it. For the last few months, I’ve spent most of the time trying to find inspiration and living my life to gain a better perspective as an artist and a person in order to write my records with a more grounded sense of reality. This is a 15-second snippet of the record; the concept of the song is that a lot of times, when you do something great in your life and you tell your friends about it, there would be people that are genuinely happy for you. However, there are times when those “friends” interpret it in the wrong way. Either it would be jealousy, supposed “thirstiness”, or lack of ambition. If you’re the type of person that doesn’t want to be around negativity, you would like to separate yourself from the drama and keep building your potential to reach the goals you want to attain. You’ll still love your friends and will have no problem kicking with them, but if there’s time wasted and goals to be made, you can’t have anyone dragging you down. That’s why you’re “too much” for these people.

THE FRESH TABLE: Episode 1

This is the first episode of an online radio show that my good friend @FlyCarla and myself are hosting. NEW MUSIC: Redhead Appears on Halloween Mixtape “Monsters Ball”

A couple of months ago, my good friend King Kan of A-Squad Records contacted me about donating a few music tracks for a mixtape project that he wanted to do for his company to be released on Halloween. His concept is that every artist wears a “mask” when they perform their craft to separate reality from artistic bliss. I thought it was interesting, so I sent him the track The Crucible.

This is a 45-minute hiphop compilation project mixed by DJ LaZ-EyE that follows the theme and features several artists from the DC area. Download this mixtape for free at TheHalloweenTape.com for more info, or come directly to Datpiff.

NEW MUSIC: Redhead – “Furlough Bars”

Dropped a new song during the sequester to prepare for the upcoming project Exxxactly. Enjoy and spread to your friends and family. It’s a creative writing piece, so to speak.

NEW REMIX: @LordeMusic – “Royals” (Feat. Redhead)

This is a pretty cool remix that I came up with after hearing the song Royals by the talented singer Lorde from New Zealand. A friend of mine suggested that I remix this song in my perspective and decided to drop this for fun. Hope you enjoy! More new music is on the way in a recording session that is in place as I type this out! Download this song for free and share it with your friends and family.

SHOWING LOVE: Thank You

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you all that came out and celebrated my birthday with me. The show had pretty major fails in it that I’m not okay with, but the fact that you guys came over for my brand of Hiphop was a great present in itself (but the check was great, of course). I love you all. New music and videos on the way from myself and the FarEXP on the way.

Music: Redhead – “The Night”

This was a track that I made from my first mixtape “The Honesty Box”. It’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve done. The sample is from a song that I used to listen to as a kid, and I wrote about my experiences in the music industry when I first got into it. The names have been changed/omitted to protect the innocent, and is all made with creative freedom. Check it out and let me know what you think.

SHOWING LOVE: @DJFumo Gets Busy (VIDEO)

Had a show last night at Velvet Lounge in DC opening for Big Lo. Here’s a little video that I taped during sound check where DJ Fumo gave the wheels of steel some attention. The show itself was a lot of fun. I always appreciate folks with talent and dedication to their respective crafts. This is 8 years in the making for him. Much love to him.
