While supporting longtime collaborators Navi & Juda from Delegation Music Group at the Broccoli City Fest where they opened for the likes of Erykah Badu, Joey Badass, as well as Jaden & Willow Smith, I was invited by them to accompany the crew on stage for an impromptu freestyle session. The crowd was lit and fun was had. Glad to be able to show off my skills for the occasion. Check out videos and photos below!
More pics on the way.
My peoples MH The Verb decided to have another show at Velvet Lounge in DC as he travels throughout Brooklyn. Last time we had a show together, it was pretty fun. Definitely wouldn’t pass this opportunity up. Stop by for some laughs and good ol fashioned funk, rock, and hiphop. It costs $8 and my 30 min set is at 10pm sharp, so be smart about it and come on time!
Also, if you’re down with the JamCamp Festival, it will be moved to June 5th to 7th. Be sure to check out more details at their website.
As heard on the previous #DMVDay mixtape, here’s the mastered record. More new music on the way!
For the Valentine’s Day festivities, the team that brought you the #DedicationMotivationVictory mixtape (DJ Nature Boi & DJ No Requests) releases a holiday themed project for all the lovebirds and haters out there. This project features several DC metropolitan artists, including yours truly with a new track from Exxxactly called “Hennessy & Soda”. Enjoy!
For the first time, my original music has played on a major radio station in the DC metropolitan area. It’s been a long time coming, and I appreciate the support and ALL the DJs that continue to support this record.
Shouts go to DJ Heat, Mana, DJ Laz-Eye of The LaZ Hour, DJ Kmeta, DJ Oso Fresh, DJ 2-Tone Jones, DJ On Point, DJ Absolut, Frantasy & Marc of BlisFM, DJ Sixth Sense, DJ No Requests, DJ Nature Boi, Nicktha1nda, DJ Best Kept Secret, DC Vinyl Headz, and everyone else that’s been spreading the word & supporting the video and the record and continuing to do so. The job isn’t over yet, but I’m loving where the path is going right now.
After meeting with Frantasy at a particular show in uptown Washington, D.C., I secured a slot to be interviewed for my upcoming project “Exxxactly“. It’s been often delayed but so far, the music is getting strong. I came to the show to premier new music, including an unfinished song I recorded the night before.
Take a listen to the show at this link:
Here’s some pictures from my time there. Much love to my folks King Kan, Uncle Smacks, Jermaine Montana, and AyeYoSmiley who were also in the studio.
For my first live appearance in 2015, I was asked by a good friend Justin Trawick to accompany him and his indie folk rock band as they perform in Arlington, Virginia at their residency gig at IOTA Club. It was also Justin’s birthday, so it was very special to be there. I decided to come out there in my Wu-Tang sweater and flex my skills for the crowd and have some fun. Here’s a video filmed by a concertgoer:
My guys DJ No Requests and DJ Nature Boi put together a great mixtape featuring local Hiphop artists showcasing their lyrical prowess and fire ass beats. My song “Too Much” is the last song on the mix. It’s a great tape to play in the car and rock out to. Check this for yourself at the bottom:
